Tamu Pye Lhu Sangh UK Charity Dinner Night

On Saturday, 5th October 2024, The Tamu Pye Lhu Sangh UK, a registered charity, successfully organised its annual charity gathering and membership get-together at Empire Hall, Aldershot. This annual charity gathering was held for charitable purposes, with a particular focus on supporting the construction of the Kohinbo Dheen and the renovation of the Community house.


The programme, coordinated under the leadership of the President Capt. (Retd) Dem Bahadur Yoja Tamu, was more vivrant and engaging than in previous years. New highlights including the Chairman's Cup and the Prajwal Rathi Award, were introduced as exciting features and conceptualised it to continue annually.


The event featured new highlights, including the Chairman's Cup competition and the Prajwal Rathi Award. In the Chairman's Cup Competition, which was introduced to promote traditional Tamu attire, the couple of Kul Pahchyu and Bishnu Tu Klhepri won first place with 54 points, while Bheg Chahkli and Dil Kumari Pahchyu secured second place with 52 points. The competition was judged by a distinguished panel comprising Capt. (Retd) Nar Bahadur Parju Tamu MVO, BEM; Hitman Kepchhe Tamu and Maya Tamu, the founding President of the Aama Samuha of Tamu Samaj UK.


The Prajwal Rathi Award, presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the organisation and community, particularly in preserving Tamu religion, culture, language and traditions. This award was presented to Prof. Narayan Lhenge Tamu in recognition for his outstanding contributions and dedications. This prestigious award will continue to be presented annually to recognise exceptional service and dedications.

The programme also welcomed representatives from various organisations and brotherhood groups, including Tamu Dhee UK and Tamu Samaj UK. During the event, newly appointed presidents of several organisations, along with other distinguished personalities were formally honoured.



Entertainment and engagement were key highlights of the evening, featuring a raffle draw and cultural dance performances. These were coordinated by the Third Vice President Damber Tu Klhepri Tamu and Cultural Coordinator Jum Prasad Tu Klhepri Tamu, while the Chairman's Cup competition was managed by the Second Vice President Amar Tohrje Tamu.
